No Sew $0 Teepee for Children or Pets

This summer I cut down many tree branches that hung over my roof line and encroached on my neighbors property.  I let the branches sit on the ground for a couple of weeks so that I could use the dried up dead leaves to start a compost.  After I retrieved the dried leaves,  I noticed many interesting shaped branches and I thought hmmmm.... I should make a teepee!  This was a fun project that I created with yard waste and excess items that I had laying around the house. In other words this teepee did not cost a single penny.

This is what you will need:

Now, I have never ever made a teepee before so this is my first time.  This is how I did it.

First, I selected three medium sized branches that looked like they would fit well together to make a triangular shape.  Then I removed all of the smaller branches and leaf stems from those branches and sanded them smooth.
Second, I then hot glued the selected branches together and reinforced them together by wrapping jute rope around the connecting branches.
Third, I let the branches stand on their own to make sure that they were stable, balanced, and secure.
Fourth, I found three yards of upholstery fabric that I had left over from another project (try to use fabric that is 54" to 60" wide).  I wrapped the fabric around the branch frame and hot glued it on.
Fifth, I felt like my teepee was missing something so I hot glued a decorative peek on the top and wrapped jute rope around the bottom of the legs.  However, you can add the decorative touches that you prefer.
